What is Changemaker?

kuva3etusivuChangemaker is a non-governmental youth movement, which works to promote global justice through focusing on development issues. Changemaker aims to approach the fundamental causes of the unequal distribution of resources between the rich and poor and between the North and the South to construct and promote solutions to these. Changemaker seeks to provide information about the injustice in the world, its causes and the possibility to act on it, especially for young people.

Changemaker was founded in Norway in 1992 and it is Norwegian Church Aid’s youth movement. Since its establishment Changemaker has grown to become Norway’s most influential youth organisations on development issues and the concept has spread to other countries as well. Today there are several more or less established Changemaker groups in the world.

Changemaker Finland was established in 2004 and is Finn Church Aid’s youth movement. The movement is growing rapidly: Today we have 21 local groups around Finland and over 1000 members.
